Frank Emerick, one of the old timers of Mellette County, answered the final summons of his Maker at the Chamberlain hospital last Saturday at the ripe old age of 80 years.

Mr. Emerick came to Mellette County in the year 1913 and for a number of years operated a farm on a quite extensive scale in the Happy Hollow neighborhood. Of late years he had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. George Baumann, at White River, and only recently went to Chamberlain where he was a patient at the hospital.

The deceased was well and favorably known to a large number of friends in all parts of the county. He leaves to mourn his death six sons and six daughters, some 35 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held at White River last Monday and the remains were laid to rest in the White River cemetery. We regret we did not have the data at our command to write an obituary notice of this pioneer resident.
