MRS. MAY DELAVAN

Nora May Williams, daughter of Warren and Sarah Williams, was born May 6, 1876, in Rawles township, south of Glenwood, where she grew to womanhood.

She was married March 6, 1901, to Richard Delavan, a neighbor. They made their home on a farm in the neighborhood their entire lives. He died Aug. 30, 1953.

Two sons were born to this union - Paul, who was at home and cared for his mother, and Dallas of Glenwood. Also surviving are two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

She was one of the oldest members of the Glenwood Christian Church.

She died at a Council Bluffs hospital Aug. 31 at the age of 91 years, three months and 25 days. She fell in her home several days before her death, suffering a broken hip.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sept. 4 from Raynor, Lett and Kent Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Taenzler officiating. Music was by Mrs. Lorren Fisher and Mrs. Alex Christensen with Mrs. Francis Dashner as organist.

Flower bearers were Mrs. Frank Dashner, Mrs. Warren Gaylord, Mrs. Robert Taenzler and Mrs. Dorsey Roll. Pallbearers were Charles Burson, Sr., Dale Linville, Forrest Chambers, Ralph Tackett, Myron Jones and Charles Burson, Jr. Burial was in Tabor cemetery.
