Margaret Ellen (Barker) Ballinger was born on Tuesday; February 1, 1944 in Creston; Union County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Weldon & Lois (Vogel) Barker. Margaret was raised in Mount Ayr; Ringgold County, Iowa graduating from Mount Ayr High School in 1962. She attended Nebraska College of Business. Margaret was united in marriage to Randall Bomer in January of 1966. Their marriage was blessed with children, Jeff, Jerry, Ron, Brenda and Diane. In May of 1990, Margaret married Willis Ballinger. The couple enjoyed riding horses and attending the Sidney Rodeo each year. Margaret was a talented seamstress and enjoyed shopping, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She had attended Calvary Baptist Church and assisted with Vacation Bible School when she was still able. Margaret was employed at the Glenwood Resource Center for 24 years until her health no longer permitted. Margaret Ellen (Barker) Ballinger, age: 67, passed away on Monday; June 13, 2011 in Council Bluffs; Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her husband: Willis Ballinger of Glenwood, Iowa. Her children: Jeff Bomer of Carpentersville; Kane County, Illinois; Jerry (Terri) Bomer; Ron (Tracy) Bomer; Brenda (Bryan) Bryan Crawley and Diane (Chad) Cooke all of Glenwood, Iowa. Her sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Her brother: Fred & wife (Joann) Barker of Lincoln; Lancaster County, Nebraska; her sister: Marilyn (Dale) Eichelberger of Robbins; Linn County, Iowa; her sister-in-law: Judy (Ed) Anglen of Pacific Junction; Mills County, Iowa; also extended relatives and a host many friends. Preceding Margaret in death were her parents and granddaughter: Misty Lybarger. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from: 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday; June 16, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 2:00 p.m. on Friday; June 17, 2011 also at the Peterson Mortuary, Inc. Interment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Iowa.
