Services Thursday for Mrs. Knight

Memorial services were held Thursday afternoon at Mansfield Funeral Home for Mrs. Mary Fern Knight whose death, following a long illness, occurred May 1.

They were conducted by the Rev. Clarence Woollard. The daughter of Addison Porter and Lola Wightman, she was born Feb. 18, 1892, at Sidney. She grew up in that community, graduating from Sidney high school and attending college in California. Following her schooling she taught for several years, coming to Malvern as an elementary teacher. In 1920 she was married to Edward W. Knight, and they had one son, Edward W.

She was active in several community organizations and in the town's development. Her husband died in 1965. She had been in failing health for some time. Her death came. May 1 at the Edmundson hospital.

Providing the music for the funeral services was Mrs. Wm. G. Blackburn, organist. Mrs. Max Dashner and Mrs.R.D. Mansfield cared for the flowers. Mrs. Charles D. Costello was at the registry book. Serving as pall bearers were Thomas Gidley, Jr., Roy D. Mansfield, Charles D. Costello, Joe Robbins, J.F. Wearin Jr. and
James N. Summers. Interment was in the Malvern cemetery.
