Another of Malvern's long time residents was called to her reward the past week in the death of Mrs. Robert Knight, one of the faithful and beloved women of this community. Death came after a lingering illness of some eight weeks.

She had been in poor health for some time and had been at the home of her daugher, Mrs. John Paulson north of town where she was tenderly cared for in her last illness. She passed away Sunday afternoon. June 22, aged 68 years, 7 months and 22 day.

Funeral services were held from the Paulson home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Walter C. Plank, pastor of the Malvern M. E. church. A special choir, Messrs. Plank and Mcclymond and Mesdames F. R. Chantry and L. D. Austin sang.

Nancy Jane Mathis was born October 24, 1855 in Bedford, Iowa. She was the daugher of William and Nancy Mathis. They moved to Mills County while she was yet a child.

She was married to Robert Knight in Malvern, Iowa, July 4, 1875. To them were born seven children of whom three survive, Mrs. John Paulson and Harvey Knight of Malvern and Mrs. Guy Mclean of Omaha. She is survived by three brothers and three sisters, eleven grand children and one great grand son.

She early in life united with the Methodist church and lived faithful to its teachings. She was a good neighbor, a loyal friend and a loving faithful mother. Her passing is deeply mourned and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
