George W. Dalton-Obituary
George W. Dalton, whose death was briefly mentioned in Tuesday's Tribune, was born March 20, 1841, in Indiana, and resided for many years in Mills. He was a son of Elijah Dalton, who in the early day kept a tavern and stage station on the road between Glenwood and Council Bluffs. He is the fourth member of the family to die in the last eight months. He served four years in the civil war as a member of the Fourth Iowa Infantry.
He was a member of the Danville, Illinois, Military Soldiers' Home, and at the time of his death was on a furlough visiting his family in Mills County.
He was married three times during his life and is survived by a wife and several stepchildren.
The funeral was held from the home west of Pacific Junction on Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev. Ferdinand Seitz and burial took place in the west Liberty cemetery.
