Lois Drake, 76, Hawaii

Funeral services for Lois Drake, 76, of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Glenwood, were Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood.

The Rev. Douglas Anderson officiated with Peterson Mortuary of Glenwood in charge of arrangements.

Lois died suddenly, Tuesday, Oct. 6 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

She was born Aug. 13, 1913 in Prosperity, Mo., to Lena Lawing and Asa Floyd Rosencrans. She graduated from Kansas State University, majoring in physical education. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

She was the widow of William B. Drake Sr., a World War II Colonel in the U. S. Army and a lawyer in Glenwood from 1945 until his death in 1966.

Lois taught school in Glenwood for many years preceding her husband's death. She moved to Omaha in 1967, then to Hawaii in 1970, where she worked as a Cytotechnologist until her retirement in 1978.

Lois remained active throughout her retirement, playing bridge and golf and involving herself in community activities.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Donnelly of Kansas City, Mo.; and her three children, William Jr. of South Berwick, Maine, June Merolla of Omaha, and Henry of Grand Junction, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.
