Mrs. Bertie Eyler of Bartlett, aged 16 years and 5 months, died of blood poisoning at Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs Friday evening (March 14, 1909). The body was take to Bartlett for burial Saturday morning. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Connor of Bartlett. She is survived by a little babe 4 months old and by two sisters, Mrs. May Taylor and Miss Marcia Connor of Bartlett.

This is the second chapter in a series of sad events. Two weeks before, Guy Eyler, her husband, took his own life. The young wife was taken seriously ill a few days later and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The funeral services were conducted in the Christian church on Sunday by Elder Charles Aitkens. Interment was in Thurman cemetery.
