Mills County Tribune
July 9, 1903

Word was received here Monday that Arthur Davidson, who went to Wilder in the south part of Minnesota several weeks ago, had a hand blown off by a cannon cracker on the 4th. He is about 23 years old and is the son of A. J. Davison, residing southwest of Glenwood. Mrs. Davidson, his mother, went up to Wilder the same day. In a letter received yesterday by Mr. Davidson from his wife she states that the boy was also hurt internally and that there is little hope for his recovery. It seems that the accident was the result of a cannon exploding and not that of a cannon fire cracker.

Later - Since putting down the above in type a telegram was received last night announcing the boy's death, and that the body would arrive at the Junction on No. 4 today. The funeral will take place from the home tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 3 o'clock. Elder Chambers of the Latter Day Saints will conduct the service.
