Abbie R. Watts, 97, of Glenwood died Nov. 14, 1995 at the Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Funeral services were Friday at Peterson Mortuary. Burial was at the Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Grant Wiley officiating.

Mr. Watts was born April 9, 1898, to Pleasant Hopkins and Margaret Elsie (Mefford) Watts in Bulls Gap, Tenn. He married Fern Mildred Woodward on January 27, 1918 in Summerfield, Kan. Abbie was a farmer and carpenter and formerly lived in Tabor and Missouri Valley.

He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include five children, Keith Watts of Missouri Valley, Orval Watts of Denver, Colo., Auburn Bird of Glenwood, Vivian Harrington of Glenwood, and Iona Bird of Council Bluffs; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Watts of Blair, Neb.; one half-brother, Carl Watts of Blair, Neb.; and one half-sister, Lilly Mae Roerick of Waterloo, Neb.
