"A Terrific Wind"

The terrific wind of last Thursday night and Friday carried terror to many people on the Missouri bottom. It was an unpleasant thought - that of having your home blown away or damaged during a raging blizzard.

Probably W. L. DeLashmut had as thrilling an experience as any. Lynn was fearful that the wind would crash through the window on the north side of their bed room. To prevent this Lynn spent most of his time on Thursday night with his feet, wrapped in blanket, braced against the weaving window pane. Of course, it was mighty little sleep that he got in that uncomfortable attitude.
