Will of J G Fowler, Deceased.

White Cloud, Iowa December 17th 1896
I, J G Fowler, of White Cloud, Iowa, being of sound mind and in the full possession of my mental faculties do make and declare this my last Will and Testament to Wit: After my death, I desire that all of my Just debts and dues be fully paid and discharged and that the last expenses of my death and burial be first fully discharged. I direct that as soon as practicable after my death that my Real Estate to wit: the N.W. 1/4 NW 1/4 sec 12 in Twp 71, Range 41 in Mills County, Iowa be sold and the proceeds be converted into money and that all personal property that I may own at the time of my death be sold and converted into money and the proceeds of said sales be divided as follows: First: that all debts against me or my Estate be fully paid and of the amount remaining that Three Hundred Dollars in cash be paid to James S Miller of Malvern, Iowa, and that the sum of Fifty Dollars be deposited at a proper rate of interest said interest to be applied each year to the care of the graves of myself and my first wife in the Malvern Cemetery after these said sums are thus fully paid I direct that the full balance remaining of the proceeds of my property be paid to my beloved wife Susanna Fowler if she be living at that time.
I hereby nominate and appoint Wm. G Summers Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand in the presence of Almighty God and these Witnesses signed at my home in White Cloud Tp, Mills County, Iowa, this seventeenth day of December 1896.

We Wm. G. Summers and C. B. Christy have heard the above Will read to J. G. Fowler and have heard him acknowledge said Will as being his voluntary act and deed and have in his presence and the presence of each other signed this instrument as Witness.

STATE OF IOWA, Mills County, --ss.
I, C C Patter, Clerk of the Circuit Court, hereby certify that an instrument purporting to be the last Will and Testament of J G Fowler of Mills County, Iowa, was presented, read and filed on the 9th day of August 1897; that notice was published for its Probate in the Malvern Leader, a weekly nespaper in Mills County, Iowa, three consecutive weeks, the last publication being ten days before the time appointed for its probate; that on said time appointed, the execution of said will was duly approved by the subscribing witnesses thereto; and also that the said testator at the time of its execution was of full age, sound disposing mind and memory, and free to act. It was then and there adjudged and ordered by the court that the aforesaid instrument was duly executed and that the same be admitted for Probate as the last Will and Testament of J G Fowler and that letters testamentary issue to the Executor named therein in accordance with which W G Summers Executor named in said will, was appointed to carry its provisions into effect.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have attached the seal of this Court and subscribed my name this 12 day of Oct 1897
