Know All Men By These Presents: that I, Mary Hartje of Mineola, Mills County, State of Iowa, being of sound mind and memory, do make and declare this my last Will and Testament, revoking all former wills by me heretofore made in the following manner, that is to say;

My will is, that all my just debts and all funeral expenses shall by my executors herein after named be paid out of my estate as soon after my decease as shall by them be found convenient.

I give to my son Abbert (sic) Borstelmann of Wachendorf in the Province of Hanover, Germany, eldest son out of my first marriage with Johann Borstelmann of said Wachendorf, Germany, the sum of five Dollars, he having inherited and received the bulk of the estate of his deceased father Johann Borstelmann of Wachendorf, Germany.

To my daughter Martha, wife of Edward Saar, or her legal heirs, I give and bequeath One Thousand Dollars.

To my daughter Martha and my son Henry Borstelmann, I give and bequeath jointly, all of my household goods and furniture.

One fifth part of the balance of my estate, either real or personal, I give and bequeath to the heirs of her body of my daughter Emma, wife of John Saar to be paid to them after the decease of their mother Emma, wife of John Saar. My said daughter to have and enjoy the income during her natural life.

All the rest and residue of my estate of whatever kind and character and wheresoever located I give and bequeath, share and share alike to my daughter Martha Saar, my daughter Lina Lammert, my son Henry Borstelmann and my son Otto Hartje.

And lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Herman Peters and A. E. A. Hartje of Mineola, Iowa, executors of this my last will and testament, without being required to give bonds as such executors and also hereby empower them to deed and sell as such executors any and all real estate of which I shall die seized and possessed and divide same among my heirs as above provided.
