Married
Caughlan-Corcoran

A wedding of much interest to Pacific Junction people, and involving two young people of that city, was solemnized Monday evening, September 3, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamburg. The World-Herald society column has the following concerning the affair and the parties involved.

Among the wedding presents received by Dr. Gerald Vaughn Caughlan and his bride, Miss Ellinor Corcoran, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Corcoran of Pacific Junction was a commission as first lieutenant in the medical reserve corps, presented to the groom Saturday by his Uncle Sam.

The ceremony was planned several weeks ago to take place yesterday morning at 6 o’clock a St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Hamburg, Ia., in view of the fact that the groom expected at any time to receive his commission and be called into service.

Mrs. Charles R. Caughlan of this city, mother of the groom, and his sister, Miss Mercedes Caughlan, motored over for the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Father Tracy of that parish.

Lieutenant and Mrs. Caughlan returned to Pacific Junction, where they will remain with the bride’s parents until he is ordered into service.

Lieutenant Caughlan is a graduate of Creighton college and also of the medical department. He has been a member of the Creighton medical staff of teachers, and although he located at Pacific Junction only a few months ago, came in twice a week to continue his teaching at Creighton.

The Tribune joins with their scores of friends in congratulations and well wishes.
