DEATHS

WALTER HELIN

Last rites were held for Walter J. Helin, 78, St. Anthony on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart church in St. Anthony. Father Cecil McSweeney officiated. Rosary was held at 8:30 p.m. in the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at St. Anthony.

Casket bearers were Carl Muschick, Harold Heil, William Ward, Grady Ward, Donald Huzelman and Wayne Clark.

Helin died Saturday, May 7 at the Bryant Nursing Home in State Center where he had been a patient for the past six months. He was born in 1888 at St. Anthony and had farmed all his life in Marshall County.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 1955, two daughters Clara and Dorothy; a brother, Albert and a sister Mrs. Julie Schuler. Surviving are two sons, Carl of St. Anthony and Edward of Buena Park, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Wart of St. Anthony and Mrs. Bernadette Charlson of Haverhill, three brothers, Wilbur of Scranton, Charles of Long Beach, Calif., and Clarence of Rhodes; four sisters, Martha Finney of Seattle, Wash., Genevieve Heiderscheid of Lake Crystal, Minn., Mary Graham of New York state and Rosetta Nelson of Marshalltown and thirteen grandchildren.
