John R. Wilson, a member of the Soldiers’ Home, died at the hospital Saturday night at 9 o’clock after an extended illness with diabetes. Mr. Wilson came to the Home from Hamburg, March 27, 1903, for treatment and has been at the Home ever since. He served in Company F, Forty-Eighth New York Infantry having enlisted in Brooklyn, March 1865. He was discharged in October of the same year, at Heart Island, New York. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Wilson, two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Hammond and Miss Grace Wilson, and one son, Mrs. Joseph Wilson*, all of Hamburg. The funeral was held this afternoon at 3 o’clock, from the assembly hall, conducted by Chaplain Jesse Cole.
