Prominent Attorney a Suicide.
J. F. Meeker, a pioneer settler and one of the best known lawyers In Central Iowa, committed suicide by hanging at Marshalltown. His body was found in the barn by his son when the father did not come to lunch. Temporary insanity was the cause.

Transcriber's Note: Find a Grave shows this was John Franklin Meeker who was born December 15, 1837 and died January 8, 1908 and he is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.
