DEANE MAE WHALEY
April 25, 1929-November 30, 2016

Deane Mae Whaley was born on April 25, 1929 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Emil John Lacina and Vivian Rose Norris. She passed on November 30, 2016 at Swedish/Edmonds Medical Center, Edmonds Campus. She was married to Harris "Roger" Whaley. He passed away on May 12, 2001, and is inurned at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington. They moved in 1957 from the state of Iowa, to the Seattle, Washington area, where they raised five children. She was a homemaker, an excellent cook, loved gardening and her in-door plants. Her main focus was on her family. The Tulalip Casino in Marysville, Washington was a favorite destination. Deane learned to correspond through Facebook and loved to play games on her I-phone. Deane has a son, Richard Whaley of Lynnwood, WA. She has four daughters, Holly (Steve) Kerby of Seattle, WA, Bobbie Whaley of Lynnwood, WA, Sherri (Ron) Norton of Burien, WA, and Andy (Larry) Hurtt of Seattle, WA. She has a daughter, not by blodd, Jan Cuillier of Granite Falls, WA. Her brother, John Lacina lives in Toledo, Iowa and her sister, Dixie Lacina also lives in Toledo, Iowa. Deane has ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Inurnment will be with her husband at the Tahoma National Cemetery, in Ken, WA.
