CHARLES E. NORRIS, 79

Charles E. Norris, 79, of 711 S. 3rd St., Marshalltown, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, at his home.

Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home. The Rev. Conrad Lundberg of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Charles Norris Memorial Fund.

He was born June 27, 1917 in Tama County to Elmer R. and Anna Kautz Norris. He received his education in Marshalltown and attended Marshalltown Senior High School.

He married Erma V. Fisher on Feb. 6, 1937 in Marshalltown. He worked for Doyen Flower & Feed Co. for several years before working for the Iowa Department of Transportation as a heavy maintenance operator. He retired in 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Erma Norris of Marshalltown; two daughters, Diane C. (Mrs. Hans) Peppel of Marshalltown and Beverly J. (Mrs. Ernie) Sawyer of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Viola Amos; and a brother, Floyd Norris.
