DEATH OF MRS. KNISELY

Venerable Monther of County Clerk Passes Away Early This Morning

One of the Best Known and Most Beloved of City's Older Residents

Death, which has not been expected for the past few days, came this morning at about 1 o'clock to Mrs. Elizabeth Knisely, mother of County Clerk S. P. Knisely and Mrs. Rebecca S. Fulmer, of 111 West Webster street. "Grandma" Knisely was one of the best known of the older ladies of the city and by all who were fortunate to know her she was loved. Her kind and loving disposition and pleasing personality were to be envied and in her death her friends mourn her as one to whom they can look back upon with only the best of influences that were derived from their knowledge of her character. Mrs Knisely was 88 years of age and was born near Chambersburg, Franklin county, Pennsylvania. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Harmony and she was married on May 15, 1834, to John Knisely. Mr Knisely died April 7, 1860, and since that time the deceased had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Fulmer. The mother and daughter have not been separated since the birth of the latter, sixty-two years ago, and have ever been the most loving of companions. Mrs. Knisely has been a resident of Marshalltown since 1881. After leaving Pennsylvania she came to Council Bluffs with her daughter, residing there three years and then moving to Hamburg, Fremont county. She has been a communicant member since girlhood of the German Reformed church. Mrs. Knisely's death was the result of heart failure caused by heat exhaustion, or rather relaxation following the recent heated term. She had only been bedfast since Tuesday. About her when the end came were all her children. Mrs. Fulmer and Mrs. Knisely, of this city; Mr. Frank Knisely, of Kansas City, and Mr. Charles Knisely, of St. Louis. The funeral will be held from the Fulmer home, at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev. Russell, of the Presbyterian church. The deceased's three sons and her grandson, Mr. I. S. Rest, of Clemons, will act as pall bearers.
