Rosezella Mae Wood, 96, of Marshalltown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 27, 2017.
Private graveside services for Rosezella will be held on Saturday, Septemaber 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the funeral home in Rosezella's name to designate at a later time.
Rosezella Maiden Wood was born on January 4, 1921 near Tama, Iowa to Ray and Leota Maiden. She was one of three children. Rosezella attended rural school in Tama County and graduated from Tama High School. On July 31, 1940, Rosezella was united in marriage to Everett Wood of Brooklyn, Iowa at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at the Madison Church in Brooklyn. Her husband and family were her delight and pride. Rosezella gave thanks to God for a husband who taught her patience and for his everlasting love and protection. She would always rejoice in her children and the unique gifts God gave each of them. Rosezella loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren as her own. She was a faithful servant in many capacities at the First Baptist Church in Grinnell and Marshalltown. Rosezella was involved in Boy Scouts, 4-H leader, member of Iowa Beta Sigma Phi, ABW, Norus Club, Golden Opportunities and enjoyed the challenge of her many bridge clubs.
Rosezella is survived by her daughters, Judy Hill of Marshalltown and Joye Welsch of Glenview, Illinois. Grandchildren: Jeff Hill of Marshalltown, Dr. Christopher (Elise) Welsch of Jackson, Tennessee and Jennifer (Pastor Greg) Laible of Lehighton, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Joshua Welsch, Jessica Welsch, Sarah Laible, Anna Laible and Ethan Laible.
Rosezella is preceded in death by her husband, Everett; parents, Ray and Leota; sister, Alta; brother Ray; son, Dr. Dennis Wood; and sons-in-law, George Hill and Thomas Welsch.
