MAX R. PAXSON DIES SUNDAY

Max R. Paxson, 78, formerly of 1706 W. State St., but more recently of the Iowa Veterans Home, died Sunday morning.

Born July 29, 1905, in Marshall County, he was the son of Fred and Susie Dimmitt Paxson. He received his education in the Albion schools, graduating with the class of 1924.

On June 1, 1929, at Albion, he was married to Hazel Reiss. They made their home in Marshalltown, where he was employed with Fisher Controls as a machine operator until his retirement in 1969.

During World war II he served with the U.S Army.

Preceding him in death were two brothers.

Surviving besides his widow of the Iowa Veterans Home are one son and three daughters, Richard Paxson, Mary Jo Albee and Peggy Weuve, all of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Bonnie Mitchell, Cedar Falls. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Walter Paxson of Gilman.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Mauldin officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home until time of services. A memorial fund is being established.
