HAVERHILL - Harry Stolzman, 78, of Haverhill, a native of Laurel, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 25, at his home.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Haverhill.
Father William O'Brien, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home in Marshalltown after noon today.
Rosaries will be recited at 3 and 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Iowa River Hospice may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Bernadine; two sons, William of Marshalltown and Lyle of Conrad; three daughters, Joyce (Mrs. Melvin) Stalzer of Zearing, M. Jean (Mrs. Tom) Ronnfeldt of Minneapolis, Minn., and Jolene "Jodi" (Mrs. Bill) Worsfold of Marshalltown; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Benjamin of Marshalltown, and two sisters, Thelma (Mrs. Orville) York of State Center and Irene (Mrs. Carl) Jacob of Green Valley, Ariz., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two grandsons.
Mr. Stolzman was a member of the Haverhill Immaculate conception Catholic Church, the Haverhill Senior Citizens, in which he had held several offices, the Farm Bureau and the St. Joseph's Society of the church.
The son of William and Eva Tinnermeier Stolzman, he was born Aug. 29, 1913 in Laurel, was educated in Laurel schools and was a graduate of Laurel High School.
He was married to Bernadine Kopel Feb 5, 1936 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Haverhill.
The couple farmed in the Laurel, La Moille and Haverhill areas before retiring in Haverhill in 1980.
In addition to farming Mr. Stolzman operated a furniture upholstery business from his home and in Haverhill for more than 20 years. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 27 Dec 1991.
