DOROTHY STORIE

Vermillion, SD - Dorothy Storie, 86, of Vermillion died Sunday, September 17, 2006 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Vermillion with Rev. Elmer "Sandy" officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Bluff View Cemetery, Vermillion.

She was born on January 2, 1920 in Marshall City, Iowa [Note: Marshall County, Iowa], the daughter of Leonard and Daisy (Vestal) Carkhuff. She spent most of her life in Michigan before moving to Vermillion, SD.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Thompson of Vermillion; a son, Gerald Barker of Overgaard, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard & Daisy Carkhuff.

Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home, Vermillion, is in charge of arrangements.
