MRS. B. J. VANTREESE DIES AT HOME HERE

Mrs. B. J. VanTreese, a native of this county, died Tuesday morning at 7:15 at her home 103 West Church street. She has been in poor health for five months. The cause of death was carcinoma. Mrs. VanTreese was born on July 24, 1885 near Albion, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Bentley. She was educated in the Albion school and graduated from Albion high school. She was married Sept. 1, 1918, to B. J. VanTreese. Besides her widower, she is survived by two sons by a former marriage, Lyle Meyers of Davenport and Donald Meyers of Glenwood and one stepson, Homer VanTreese of Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by her father, Samuel Bentley of Dike, a sister, Mrs. Lela Thorn of this city, and two grandchildren. Mrs. VanTreese was a life long member of the Methodist church and a member of Marshall Rebekah lodge No. 40. Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pursel funeral home in charge of Rev. C. Wayne Overholser. Burial will be in the Albion cemetery. The Rebekah services will be held at the funeral home.
