REPORTER FAMILY CIRCLE IS BROKEN

Eldest of What (to Us) Seemed like Twin Girls, Claimed by Death
Was Thirty-four Years Old

Mrs. Leland R. Tweed (Grace Mildred O'Neal) died in Vancouver, B. C., Monday, December 7, according to a telephone message from her husband. The body was taken to the family home in Condor, Alberta, for funeral services and burial. Mrs. Tweed was the daughter of Editor and Mrs. Corwin O'Neal of the LeGrand Reporter. Grace had been in ill health for several months. She had been in Vancouver for two weeks in the hope that the change of climate would be beneficial, and the family would move to Vancouver to join her later. She suffered a relapse, however, was taken to the hospital and the husband summoned. He was with her a week before she died. Death was due to heart trouble. Grace O'Neal Tweed was born in LeGrand August 27, 1908. She was graduated from the LeGrand high school in 1926, and later took a business course at Penn college. She was employed in Nevada and Marshalltown. On February 1, 1929, she was married to Leland Tweed in Marshalltown and they left the following month for their farm home in Condor, Alberta. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Myron age 12, and twins Vernon and Virgil, age 8; also her parents, three brothers, Hugh of Kokomo, Ind., Pvt. Charles G. O’Neal in the armed forces in Alaska, Earl of Naperville, Ill.; and two sisters, Hazel O’Neal of Des Moines and Mrs. Karl Benson of Arlington, Virginia. Grandpa and Grandma O'Neal send their fondest greetings to the motherless boys and the son-in-law in their faraway home. They are recalling at this unhappiest of Christmas seasons a happier time three years ago when Grace and the twin boys spent the winter in LeGrand.
