MARSHALLTOWN — David Russel Harding, 58, of Marshalltown died March 2, 2007, in Marshalltown.

David, the son of Russel Paul Harding and Evelyn Herma Schauper, was born July 2, 1948. David served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked in Marshalltown as an optician for many years. David was a member of the American Legion, Marshalltown Post #46; the American Legion Golf Course; and the First Presbyterian Church in Newton.

David was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Craig Alan Harding.

Those left to honor David’s memory include, one son, Bret Harding of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Amy Harding of Austin, Texas; two grandsons, Caiden and Riley; his mother, Evelyn Harding of Marshalltown; and one sister, MeriAnn Lansing of Marshalltown.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Newton. Friends may call at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton after 1 p.m. Sunday. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may be designated to First Presbyterian Church.
