Edith Virginia Reisser Oct. 22, 1926- Dec. 27, 2012

Resident of Orinda, CA, Edith (Edie), of Orinda, California, passed away in December 2012. Born in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was an identical, mirror twin to Eleanor Rose Evans. She met her wonderful husband, Al, a hero of World War II, at the University of Iowa, where she graduated with a degree in Art History. They were married in 1950. They had three daughters in Iowa and then moved the family to Mexico, Missouri. They then moved to Orinda, California where they had a son. Mother was always the grand hostess. She loved to entertain and had many wonderful friends. More than anything, mother was a wonderful friend. She was a third generation PEO and was a member of the chapter OT in Orinda. She loved her church and singing in the choir. Mother loved playing bridge and traveling with her twin sister and their husbands. They traveled all over Europe and crawled through the pyramids of Egypt. She loved cooking and adored the opera. Oh, how she loved to laugh and sing. Mother loved taking her children to the beach in Carmel, where she always served her favorite fried chicken. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Alfred L. Reisser. She is survived by her twin, Eleanor, and sister Barbara. Her daughters, Karen (Jim), Eleanor (Claude), Brenna (Jerry), and son Kevin (Ann). Her grandchildren, Hayley, Brian, Meredith, Michael, Brittney (Tony), Natalie, and her great grand-daughters, Skylar and Harper. The squirrels at our family home are missing our dear mother. A Private Memorial Reception for family and close friends TBA in February. Private Burial and Family Celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edith's name may go to Hospice of the East Bay, 3470 Buskirk Avenue, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.
