MR. CLIFTON FISCUS, 88

Mr. Clifton Fiscus, 88, of rural Liscomb, died Thursday, June 27, at the Grandview Heights Care Center in Marshalltown. Services have been set for 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Bethel Grove Church with the Rev. Cynthia Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. with the family being present from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial fund is being established and may be directed to the family. He was born Feb. 14, 1914 near Liscomb the son of Herman and Pearl Edwards Fiscus. On April 6, 1944 at the Evergreen EUB Church he was united in marriage to Helen Kosanke and she survives. There are two children surviving, Karen (Mrs. Richard) Rainsbarger of Liscomb and Ronald (Iris) Fiscus of Hong Kong; two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, three sisters and two brothers. Reared and educated in the Liscomb area he graduated from the Liscomb High School in 1932. He began farming with his father and farmed the family farm until 1983 when they retired and moved to Marshalltown. While farming they had a large garden and sold vegetables to area stores and also had a roadside market on Highway 14. Mr. Fiscus was a life long member of the Bethel Grove Church and was Elder Emeritus of the church.

Services for Clifton E. Fiscus, 88, of rural Liscomb, were held Tuesday at the Bethel Grove Church with Rev. Cynthia Moore officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers were Richard Rainsbarger, Church Stewart, Toby Rainsbarger, Alvin Stewart, Marlyn Kosanke and Leroy Stewart. Honorary bearers were Richard Stackhouse, Ed Moore, Lee Kline, Harold Loffgren, Richard Sommerlot, Corwin Springer and Lee Kosanke. Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
