Darrell Peak, 64, died October 22, 1988 at the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Des Moines following a lengthy illness.

Born January 20, 1924 in Liscomb
Parents: James & Sylvia (Lamb) Peak
Grew up and educated in Marshalltown

Served in U.S. Army during World War II
Long-time truck driver, retired in 1982
Married Viona Mae Stier February 23, 1943 in Marshalltown

Preceded in death by: wife Viona in 1983; parents; three sisters; one brother

Surviving: three sons, Terry of The Colony TX, Mike of Marshalltown, Timothy of North Liberty; one daughter, Caryle Smith of Marshalltown; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Julia Winslow of Denver CO, and Wilma Mackaman of Des Moines.
