Raymond E. Wells, 64, of Story City, former implement dealer in State Center, died Friday morning [Oct. 10, 1975) at the Story City Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for a week.

Born October 30, 1910, near LeGrand, he was the son of LeRoy and Maggie Taylor Wells. He received his education in the LeGrand area.

On Feb. 19, 1941 he was married to Dora Moore and they farmed near Montour for about seven years before moving to State Center where he operated the John Deere Implement business for about 18 years, moving to Story City in 1969.

Mr. Wells was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was active in State Center community affairs.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Surviving are the widow, a son and a daughter, Mrs. David (Marjorie) Hunter of Cincinnati, Ohio, and John Wells of Marshalltown. Also surviving is a grandson, three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Marvel) Hibbs of Marshalltown; Mrs. Harold (Irene) Dunlap of Ogalalla, Neb.; and Mrs. Lewis (Wilma) Judge, Tama; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be from the Estel-Perrin Chapel Monday at 2. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
