Former Ferguson Man Dead
John Hilsabeck Passes Away at Grand Forks, North Dakota

Word received at Ferguson by relatives tell of the death at Grand Forks, North Dakota of John Hilsabeck, a former resident of the Ferguson neighborhood and son of the late Elias Hilsabeck. Particulars of Mr. Hilsabeck’s death were not given in the telegram. It is presumed that Mr. Hilsabeck, who lived at Wenatchee, Washington, had gone to Grand Forks to visit one of his children. Not long ago Mr. Hilsabeck had a severe sick spell and a surgical operation.
Mr. Hilsabeck was 65 years old. He is survived by his widow and several children. A brother, David Hilsabeck, lives at Gage, Oklahoma.
The body will be brought to Ferguson Sunday for burial and the funeral will be held there Sunday.

John Hilsabeck Dies While Visiting Sons

Wenatchee, Washington, Man Taken Ill on Trip and Operation is performed in Vain to Save Life

John Hilsabeck, 65 years old, of Wenatchee, Washington, who came to Grand Forks two months ago to visit his son, A. R. Hilsabeck, proprietor of the Saratoga Café, 14 North Third Street, died yesterday at a local hospital.
For the past ten years Mr. Hilsabeck had been suffering from an internal trouble and three weeks ago he was removed to the hospital, where an operation was performed in the hope of saving his life.
The deceased, who was born in Indiana, is survived by three sons and three daughters. They are: J. E. Hilsabeck and A. R. Hilsabeck, both of this city; Ray Hilsabeck of Wenatchee, Washington; Mrs. Bessie Brand of Redfield, South Dakota; Mrs. Addie Etzel of Oswego, Illinois, and Mrs. O. L. Hite of Wenatchee, Washington.
The body will be taken to Ferguson, Iowa, former home of the deceased, and burial services will be held there on Sunday. The remains will be shipped out of this city today and will be accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Hilsabeck, J. E. Hilsabeck and Mrs. Bessie Brand of Redfield.
Before coming to Grand Forks John Hilsabeck visited a number of points in the east.

Deaths
The body of John Hilsabeck, who died at Grand Forks, North Dakota, reached Ferguson Sunday morning for burial, funeral services being held in the Christian Church at 2:00 o’clock, in charge of Rev. William Burdine. The pallbearers were Nelson Hilsabeck, Charles Lloyd, and O. A. Finders, and William Spelcer. Burial was in Timber Creek Cemetery. Mr. Hilsabeck’s sons, Jesse and Bert Hilsabeck and daughter Mrs. Bessie Brandt of Grand Forks, accompanied the body to Ferguson.
