Miss Martha Hauser, 72, well-known resident of the Bethel Grove neighborhood, died Saturday afternoon at 4:30, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Daniel Bueghly, at Liscomb, after a week’s illness. Miss Hauser, who has lived alone for twenty-seven years, was found at her home Sunday, July 15, suffering from a partial stroke of paralysis. She was taken to the home of her sister, but pneumonia developed and she grew worse rapidly. Martha Hauser was the third daughter of Jacob and Rebecca Hauser, pioneer settlers of Marshall county, and was born Oct. 2, 1851, at the old Hauser homestead near Bethel Grove. She is survived by one brother, M. A. Hauser, of Marshalltown, and seven sisters, Mrs. D. D. Bueghly and Mrs. Elmira Fiscus, Liscomb; Mrs. Helena Miller, Marshalltown; Mrs. Sarah Jane Nickle, Des Moines; Mrs. Albert Fiscus, Van Nuys, Calif., and Mrs. George Hulet and Mrs. H. J. Denbrow, of Parker, S. D. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 from the Bethel Grove church. There will be a brief prayer service at the Bueghly home at Liscomb, at 2 o’clock, Burial will be in the Bethel Grove cemetery.
