LOCKARD DIES IN DES MOINES

T. E. Lockard, formerly of Marshalltown, died late Friday afternoon at the home of his son Leo in Des Moines. He was born in Grundy County May 9, 1870, the son of George W. and Sarah Jane Lockard. He was married to Ethel Parrish, who died in 1933 and since that time has made his home with his son. He was engaged in farming for many years and for five years, from 1908 to 1913, was associated with L. K. Patton, Charles Eadie and F. B. Black in the Marshall Auto company. Mr. Lockard was county supervisor from 1930 to 1932 and following that for a time was county overseer of the poor. Mrs. Nellie Tucker and Mrs. Loca Harland, both of who died here a number of years ago, were a sister and daughter, respectively. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Pursel funeral home and burial will be in the Hauser cemetery near Whitten.
