LISCOMB FARMER DIES

John H. Speicher Victim of Apoplexy Friday at His Home

Liscomb neighborhood for fifty-eight years, died at 6:30 o'clock Friday evening at his home, four miles east of Liscomb. Apoplexy was the cause of his death. He had been in poor health for the last two years and April 25 suffered a stroke from which he did not recover, being confined to his bed until the end. Mr. Speicher was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, Nov. 11, 1865 and when he was 4 years old, moved with his parents to Iowa, settling near Liscomb. All but four years of his life after that were spent in the Liscomb neighborhood. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Garvey at Gowrie, May 8, 1894, and they remained there four years while Mr. Speicher operated a livery business. Then they moved to the farm near Liscomb which since has been their home. He is survived by his widow, two sons and a daughter, Lee J. Speicher, living at home, William G. Speicher, Liscomb, and Mrs. J. M. Hurdle, Conrad. Two sisters, Mrs. J. K. Smith, Mitchell, S.D., and Mrs. Anna Willits, Sacramento, Calif., and seven grandchildren also survive. Mr. Speicher was a life member of the Grace Reformed church of Liscomb, from where the funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial will be in the Liscomb cemetery.
