Wilbur Galloway, 95, of Marshalltown, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Southridge Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Liscomb Church of Christ. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 20, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Liscomb Church of Christ or Iowa River Hospice. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Wilbur and his family, ph. 641-844-1234. Wilbur Galloway was born on January 29, 1914, at Liscomb, Iowa, to Jacob and Cora (Bueghly) Galloway. He was raised in the Conrad area and graduated in 1933 from Conrad High School, where he was a standout in football, basketball and track. In 1936, he moved with his parents to a farm west of Liscomb, where he farmed with his father. On June 3, 1944, he married Eloise Severson at Salem Lutheran Church near Radcliffe, Iowa. They made their home and raised their family west of Liscomb where Wilbur farmed for 47 years. In 1983 they moved to Marshalltown. After that, he enjoyed helping his son, Ron, with farm work. Wilbur and Eloise enjoyed 63 wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed attending various family activities, playing ball and cards with their family. Through the years, they enjoyed watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. Wilbur was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Wilbur was a member of the Liscomb Church of Christ, where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent, deacon and trustee on the church board. He also had served on the Liscomb School Board, Marshall County Extension Council, Bangor Township Trustee, Marshall County Farm Bureau, and Marshall County Pork Producers. He was a member of the Liscomb Odd-Fellows Lodge, and Liscomb Senior Citizen’s Organization. Wilbur is survived by his four children: Deane (Joan) of Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin; Rosemary (Lynn) Hauser of Marshalltown, Iowa; Ronald (Nanci) of Union, Iowa; and Richard (Robin) of Clear Lake, Iowa. There are 11 grandchildren: Mark (Chris), Michael (Carie), David (Maria) Hauser, Anne (Nick) Ansley, Jeffrey (Stacie), John, Charles, Lara, Reid, Brian and Ryan Galloway. There are 8 great-grandchildren: Austin, Aaron, Cole, Londyn, Lilliana, and Simon Hauser, and Bryant and Kristen Ansley.

His parents, his loving wife Eloise, and 3 brothers: Harold, Clyde, and Ralph preceded him in death.
