Lyle E. Batesole, 54, Route 4, died suddenly at his home about 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 1958. Death was attributed to a heart condition.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday from Pursel-Davis Memorial Chapel in charge of the Rev. Philip R. Anderson, pastor of Baptist Temple. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Batesole was born Aug. 30, 1903 at Marshalltown, the son of E.D. and Addie Batesole. For many years he was associated with his father and brother, Howard in the grocery business.
Their first store, the Star Grocery, was located on East State Street and they later managed stores on South Center and West Main streets.
On Aug. 18, 1927, in this city, he was married to Helen M. Finley, who survives along with one son, John Earl, at home and his mother and two brothers, Howard and Clarence, also of Marshalltown.
Another brother and a daughter, Marilyn Jane, died in infancy.
