Everett Leland Witte was born on June 7, 1921 in State Center, Iowa, son of Chris and Mary Cook Witte. He died Feb. 16, 2006. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth and attended school in Melbourne. On September 29, 1939, he was united in marriage to Doris Maxine Edler in Maxwell in Story County, Iowa. He farmed and was employed by Fisher Controls for twenty-one years, retiring in 1985 as an inspector. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ.
Everett is survived by his wife: Doris Witte of Marshalltown, three sons; Ronald Witte of Steamboat Rock, Jerry (Juanita) Witte of State Center; and David (Kay) Witte of Sigourney; two daughters: Sharon (David) Sellers of Albion and Joyce Harmon of Marshalltown; eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Arthur, Harold and Elmer, and a sister Esther.
