John P. Kerr

John Patrick Kerr, son of James and Anna Kerr, was born Nov. 20, 1889 at Des Moines, and died Friday March 16, at the Collins Hospital in Knoxville, ages 61 years 3 months and 24 days.

The deceased spendt the greater part of his life in Monroe, Marion and Mahaska counties.

December 28, 1919 married Mabel Catherine Heter, and five children were born, four boys and one girl.

Jack as he was affectionately known followed mining as a liveihood and worked in the three counties mentioned. He had been in poor health for some time.

Jack served in WWI with the 339th Heavy Field Artilery CO. C. He was discharged Nov. 18, 1918.

Surviving are James, Jack, Will andd Ruth Barthelman of Oskaloosa and Robert of Chicago, ILL. Besides his immediate family he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Woodruff of Gillispie, ILL., and Mrs. Laura Morgan of Albia. Three brothers, James and Ray of Bussey, and George of Tracy Thirteen grandchildren.
