PELLA - Gertrude Van de Voort, 84, of Pella, died Sunday, April 22, at her home.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Pella. Visiting hours at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella are open today, with family present 5-8 p.m. Memorials: Hospice of Pella or Calvary Christian Reformed Benevolent Fund.

Gertrude Eeling was born Feb. 15, 1917, in Peoria, to Marinus and Elizabeth Olivier Eeling. She lived 62 years in the Pella area, and had also lived in Galesburg.

On Aug. 27, 1936, she married Arie Van de Voort Sr. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed embroidery and her church, Calvary Christian Reformed in Pella.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Arie Van de Voort Jr. of Pella, and Lew and Caryl Van de Voort of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and spouses: Verlan and Connie Van de Voort, James and Kimberly Van de Voort, Daniel and Darcie Van de Voort, David and Michelle Van de Voort, Kenneth Van de Voort, Kevin and Rachel Van de Voort, Matthew Van de Voort, Marla and Bruce Terlouw, Vivian and Doug Vriezelaar, Heidi Van de Voort and Beth Van de Voort; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Johanna Vander Hart of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Marvin Van de Voort; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Van de Voort; her parents; a brother, Frank Eeling; and two stepfathers: Bart Van de Voort and G.P. "Shorty" Zylstra.
