PELLA - Wilma Lanser, 84, of Pella, died Wednesday, March 7, at Pella Regional Health Center's Long Term Care Unit.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith Christian Reformed Church in Pella, Pastor Ken Schepel and Pastor Isaac Meuzelaar officiating. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Pella. Memorials: World Home Bible League or Sully Christian Grade School. Visiting hours begin 9 a.m. Sunday at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella, with family present 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

Wilma De Jong was born Oct. 12, 1916, southeast of Galesburg, to Fred and Lena Huyser De Jong.

On June 4, 1937, she married William Lanser. She lived 34 years in Pella, and previously lived in Sully. She was a school teacher for many years. She and her husband owned and operated the Sully Cafe from 1960 to 1965. She was a bookkeeper for Sears Catalog Merchandise Store for 15 years.

She was a member of Faith Christian Reformed Church in Pella. She was president and secretary of the Lydia Society church group, and was a member of World Home Bible League and the Pella Quilt Guild. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano, and had been church organist for 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, William Lanser, of Pella; two sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Maxine Lanser of Littleton, Colo., and Robert and Ricki Lanser of Pella; a daughter and son-in-law: Lola and Ron Spoelstra of Pella; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Millie Devlin of Fountain Hills, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Clifford and Harold De Jong.
