PELLA - Linda E. Vander Wert, 59, of Pella, died Thursday, Dec. 13, at her home.
Her funeral service was held Dec. 17 at Trinity Reformed Church in Pella, the Rev. Donald Orange officiating. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Pella. Memorials: Hospice of Pella. Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella is in charge of arrangements.
Linda Faye Vandevoort was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Oskaloosa to Henry W. and Bernice E. Langerak Vandevoort. She was educated at Pella Community Schools and graduated from Pella High School in 1960.
On Aug. 24, 1960, she married Evan Alan Vander Wert at Trinity Reformed Church in Pella. Linda was a homemaker, and worked for her father, Henry, at Van's in Pella. She later worked at Larry's Food Center in Knoxville as head cashier until becoming scanning coordinator at Pella's Super Valu, where she worked for eight years. At present she was bookkeeper for Pella Building Systems. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; crafts, especially cross-stitching; and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Evan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Charma J. Bonnema Vander Wert of Pella, and Jeffrey and Lori M. Woodcock Vander Wert of Pella; her daughter, Lisa Vander Wert of West Des Moines; three grandchildren: Lindsay J., Stephen A. and Nathan H. Vander Wert; her mother, Bernice F. Vandevoort of Pella; a brother and two sisters-in-law: Mark and Jill Blom Vandevoort of Pella, and Jayne Nelson of Whitefish, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Paul Vandevoort.
