NEWTON - Leatha M. Davis Braden, 60, of Newton, died Friday, March 22, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Her memorial service was held March 27 at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, Delbert Bitner of the Oskaloosa Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial: Marysville Cemetery, Marysville. Memorials: Iowa Heart Center.

Leatha M. Davis was born Feb. 10, 1942, in Hamilton to Loren Wayne and Bertha Wallace Davis. She graduated from Attica High School in Attica. In 1961 she moved to Newton and worked as a keypunch operator at the Vernon Company, and later worked at the Newton Schools Child Care Center. On Oct. 15, 1976, she married Leon E. (Red) Braden in Newton.

She is survived by her husband, Red Braden; a son, Keith P. Braden of Newton; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Loren R. and Irene Davis of Hamilton, Verne C. and Evelyn Davis of Newton, Boyd E. and Carol Davis of Hamilton, Ronald G. and Jean Davis of Geneva and Paul D. and Connie Davis of Knoxville; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Lola M. Arrendell of Knoxville and Ruth I. and Ivel Bish of Woodburn; her stepmother, Josephine Wallace Davis of Phoenix, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives including Pauline Walker, Darlene and Junior Sams, Duaine and Sharon Braden and Luverne and Pat Braden, all of Oskaloosa, and Ron and Judy Topel and Ronnie and Sharon Braden, all of Phoenix, Ariz.
