Mrs. Alex Whaley Buried Tuesday A.M.
Mrs. Alex Whaley died Monday about noon at her home after a lingering illness. Death was attributed to her age.
Brief funeral services were held Tuesday morning at ten o’clock at the home conducted by Rev. Oliver Jensen, pastor of the Methodist church and the body was taken to Durham for interment in the Eureka cemetery.
Flora Della Copeland was born at Durham, Oct. 26, 1862. She was united in marriage with Alexander Whaley, Oct. 26, 1882. To this union were born five children, three daughters and two sons. One daughter Helen Opal died in infancy. Surviving are Mrs. Harry M. Pease of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Allen Brown, Modesto, Calif., LeRoy A. Whaley of Butte, Mont., and Wilson J. Whaley of Deep River.
Mr. and Mrs. Whaley moved to Parkersburg in August of 1913 and have since made this their home. She united with the Methodist church in 1914.

Harvey, Dec. 25 – Word came Monday of the passing of Mrs. Della Copeland Whaley, of Parkersburg, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at the Eureka cemetery, Tuesday afternoon. The body will be brought directly from the home to the cemetery. The Whaleys were former residents of this community.
