Her mother's parents were Thomas and Blanche Plette Vander Linden and her father's parents were Brandt and Pieternella Jacoba Willemina Ten Bosh Van Maanen.

Nancy attended the Pella Community Schools in Pella and graduated from Pella High School with the class of 1950. During high school, Nancy played on the basketball team and began showing horses. She enjoyed showing horses in competition with her uncle, Elbert Van Maanen. Following her high school graduation, Nancy began working in the office of the Rolscreen Company and then for the Farmer's Cooperative Exchange in Pella.

On June 15, 1951 she was united in marriage with James Harold Dingeman at the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella and to this union three children were born: Dennis James, Barbara Jo and Janis Lynn. Jim was inducted into the U.S. Army and during his active military service tenure Nancy accompanied him to Colorado, Kansas and Kentucky. Following his discharge in 1955 they continued to reside in Pella the remainder of their married life. Nancy assisted Jim in the operation of Pella Construction Company since 1970. Although their children now operate the company, she was still very interested in the operation.

Nancy was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Pella where she participated faithfully and intuitively in a Bible Study. She enjoyed reading and traveling.

For the past seventeen years she and Jim had spent several weeks in Arizona during the winters. She was a member of the Marion County and Pella Historical Societies and was always very interested in genealogy.

Nancy enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of two bridge clubs. She was also a member of the Pella Golf and Country Club. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren and she found real pleasure in attending and participating as a spectator in their games and activities.
