Funeral Services for Martha Willemsen, 93, of Pella were held Dec. 11, at the Third Reformed Church in Pella, the Rev. Kevin Korver and John Vandenberg officiated. Music was provided by organist Judy Steenhoek and vocalist Lori Muller.

Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Casket bearers were John Willemsen, Marvin Vander Velden, Bryan Brouwer, Bob Brouwer, Dennis Brouwer and Wayne Schippers. Honorary Bearers were Bryce Van Weelden, Brent Van Weelden and Myla Case.

Martha Brouwer, the daughter of John W. and Aleida C. (Vande Vis) Brouwer, was born November 13, 1910 in Barnveld, Gelderland, Netherlands. When Martha was eight her and her family came to the United States. She attended schools in Holland and then Sully Christian Grade School, where she completed the eighth grade.

On January 19, 1933 Martha was united in marriage with Joe Willemsen at the Otley Reformed Church parsonage. They were the parents of: Sandra Kay, Henry William, and Alice Jean. Joe passed away December 1, 1998.

Martha is survived by her daughter: Sandra (Ron) Van Weelden of Otley; 3 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three brothers: John W., Garrett , and Wilfred "Bill" Brouwer; one sister: Henrietta Vander Velden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Henry and infant daughter, Alice Jean; four brothers: Henry, Arnold, Allen, John W. "Johnny"; one sister: Gertrude Willemsen.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
