Graveside services for Charles Adelbert Reader, 80, of Knoxville, who died Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held Friday, June 16, 2000 at the Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville at 3 p.m.

Charles was born July 6, 1919 in Toranto, Kan., in Woodson County, the son of Nellie Vesta Barton and Charles Adelbert Reader Sr. He grew up and attended school in Toranto.

Charles entered the service in August 1941. He was injured while serving during WWII and was honorably discharged in November 1942. He has been hospitalized in various VA Medical facilities over the years. He has been in Knoxville the past five years and was most recently at the Knoxville Rest Home.

Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home.
