Funeral services for Clyde William Conner, 75, of Bussey, who died on Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at the V.A. Medical Center in Iowa City, will be held on Saturday, September 30, at Bussey United Methodist Church. Rev. Samuel Subramanian will officiate at the services.

Interment will be at the Hamilton Cemetery with graveside military services by the Bussey American Legion.

Clyde was born on May 20, 1925, in Chariton, to Earl and Jennie (Hunt) Conner. He married Margaret Wallace on December 1, 1951 in Lovilia.

He was a member of the Bussey Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men. He was also a member of the American Legion and had served in the United States Navy during WWII.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Cecil, Donald and Keith.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Conner; a son, William of Lovilia; a daughter, Janet Mortenson of Pershing; six grandchildren; a sister, Connie Darrah of Cedar Rapids; and two brothers, Gerald of Albia and Ronnie of Lovilia.

An open memorial has been established.

Arrangements were made by Gilbert-Nordstrom Funeral Home.
