Memorial services for Larry Frank Bachman, 59, of Oklahoma, formerly of the Knoxville-Pleasantville area, who died on Thursday, December 7, 2000, at his home in Fairland, Okla., were held on Friday, December 15, at Williams Funeral Home. Rev. Peter Peterson officiated at the services. Darlene Mooberry was organist.

Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Honorary casketbearers were Darroll Bachman, Dennis De Joode, Michael De Joode, Robert Freel, and Allen Merrill.

Larry was born on February 22, 1941, in Knoxville, to Mary Vander Linden and Frank Floyd Bachman. He grew up on his parents farm south of Pleasantville. He graduated from the Pleasantville High School in 1958. He attended Simpson College for two years.

Larry farmed and raised cattle in western Iowa before purchasing property in Oklahoma in 1976. His work as a millwright took him to several states where he worked at nuclear plants.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Lucille Freel.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Bachman of Knoxville; two sisters, Maxine DeJoode of Pleasantville and Bonnie Merrill of Beijing, China; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Paul Hecht of North Bend, Neb.; a son, Frank Lee Bachman of Council Bluffs; a grandson; as well as other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Radio Ministry.

Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home.
