CLEMONS

Mrs. JANE CLEMONS , familiarly known to all the early settlers of Liberty township as " AUNT JANE " CLEMONS, died at the home of her son , L. A. CLEMONS , at Storm Lake , Iowa , on Friday , April 21 , 1905 , aged 87 years and 9 months.

Her maiden name was JANE ALEXANDER. she was born in Licking county , Ohio , in the year 1817 , and was united in marriage with WM. R. CLEMONS , of the same county and state , in the year 1836. In 1853 the family removed to this state and settled in the vicinity of Marysville where they resided until about 1884 or 1885 , and the removes to Beuna Vista county. Mr. Clemons died from the effects of injuries received in the Pomroy cyclone of 1893.

Deceased leaves 4 children , 3 sons and a daughter. The sons are E. W. and W.L. CLEMONS of Alta , Iowa and L.A. CLEMONS , of Storm Lake.' The daughter is Mrs. LYDIA DARNELL , also of Storm Lake. Deceased was the sister of HOMER J. BUDD'S mother.
The other Marion county kinfolks of Mrs. Clemons are distant relives residing in Liberty township, PARSONS CLARK and GEORGE CLEMONS of
Lovilia , are her nephews.

She had been afflicted for several months but endured her sufferings with wonderful patience and Christian fortitude. She was converted and joined the M. E. church at the age of 13 years , and for nearly three quarters of century had remained a faithful follower of the teaching of the Saviour.

The funeral and buried took place at Alta on Sunday , April 23 . Homer J. Budd , of this city , was present when the last sad rites were enacted over the remains of his relative.
